Our last steel bin got dented in a move and started letting moisture in, so the airtight seal on this one was the deciding factor. I like that it's waterproof too since the dog's bowl area gets splashed daily. Heavy-duty plastic feels like it’ll outlast every other container we've owned.
The airtight seal is the real deal — I filled it with a 30-pound bag and the kibble still crunches weeks later. Only gripe is the lid takes a firm press to snap shut, but that's probably why it stays sealed.
Keeps the kibble dry through a humid summer and the seal hasn't loosened after a few months of daily scooping. Only gripe is it's heavier than my old plastic bin, but the waterproofing is worth it.
